"Short Shows"
DVAC will continue to mount “Short Shows” during the 2011-2012 season in the front of the gallery, between scheduled exhibitions.
"Short Shows" are a vehicle for our members to present new, innovative concepts, projects or bodies of work in a less formal manner, and to foster interaction between the artist and the public.
Selected from 10-minute presentations made to a panel, these shows are perfect for unusual installations, in-process bodies of work and interactive media. They are presented in the storefront of the space, with participating artists present in the gallery for agreed-upon hours during the exhibit. Artists who wish to incur the costs are welcome to create postcards and/or signs, but these marketing materials are not required. All written materials and media releases must be approved by DVAC prior to release. Installation/deinstallation must take place in six hours or less.
