ARTtoBUY Gift Gallery Participating Artists Information

Greetings Artists!
Fall is just around the corner and that means we are now planning for the ARTtoBUY Holiday Gift Gallery, which will be open to the public from Nov. 3 through Dec. 30, 2011. Thousands of Dayton area residents look forward to this annual eight-week, special event sale of artist-made gifts.
This year the entire storefront of the gallery will be dedicated to ARTtoBUY and all DVAC members are welcome to be a part of this fun and financially rewarding program. We hope all of our past participants will continue (or return), and lots of new artists will join in.
As always, we need everyone’s cooperation in adhering to the schedule, guidelines and high standards that ensure quality and diversity. This year we are upgrading our point-of-sale software to keep track of all items and hopefully have larger price tags that visitors can read more easily. Remember, artists are not required to work in the gallery in order to participate in ARTtoBUY. However, we do need a core group of volunteers to make ARTtoBUY happen. Each participant who works a shift every week for the duration of the exhibit (30 hours over the eight-week period) will gain a higher percentage of their profits. If you enjoy the camaraderie and would like to help, check the appropriate box on the contract. There will be sign-up sheets available during delivery on Oct. 15 and 18; bring your calendar with you! If you are unable to fulfill the full 30 hours but still want to help, you may choose to keep track of your hours in our Art Bucks Bank, with Art Bucks redeemable for discounts on any of DVAC’s programs and events.
Please be sure to tell all of your friends and family about the exhibition. One fun way to get them to see your work is to have a party in the gallery. If you would like to schedule your own private shopping party on evenings we are closed, we will gladly supply the gallery staff. The normal rental fees for the gallery are waived for members, as long as the party generates $400 in sales. Party hosts provide the refreshments they prefer.
New artists are welcome! Please make an appointment during Aug. 16-Sept. 10, so we can talk with you about what you plan to sell and help you get set up with all the forms and information you will need. Returning artists: All forms (including inventory sheets and instructions) are available on the Web site. See links below. If you prefer, we will mail you the documents or you may pick them up in the office. Please call ahead if you want us to help you with them!
