Heidi McGrew

Early art training, extensive travels, and a love of nature led Heidi Scheirer McGrew to become both a geologist and an artist who uses natural materials in her works.  Her current artistic focus is on her sand painting in which she uses all-natural, undyed sand collected from all around the world.

As a long-time quilter, I have always been interested in textures.  Sand painting combines that with my love of natural earth materials.  I enjoy pushing the boundaries of the medium!
