Debbie Hicks
Debbie Hicks, a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from Wright State University. She has worked personally and professionally in both fine art and design. Her preferred medium is painting, using oils, acrylics, watercolors, or ink.
Debbie Hicks enjoys capturing the beauty of the subjects of her paintings and drawings by often choosing simple subjects or by creating simplified, minimalist paintings. She prefers still lifes, single objects, or animals as subjects, though she enjoys experimenting with both subject and media. In all her work, she wants to convey emotion (even if a particular feeling is not explicit in a piece), weight and motion or the absence of it.
