I have been creating large-scale sculpture installations for all manner of public, private and corporate environments since 1976, when i received my first commission. My first % for Art commission was in 1979 with Miami/Dade, for Homestead Public Library. i now have such projects throughout Ohio, the States and in 24 different countries. two notable such projects were for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Park and the 1988 World Expo in Brisbane, Australia.
I grew up as a child traveling the world as my Dad was a hydro-geologist. This i think led me to continue the tradition as a sculptor. Yellow Springs was home base between overseas projects then and now. i first attended Urbana College for two years, transfered to the Dayton Art Inst. for 2.5 years, then was at the Stuttgart State Art Akademy in Germany for half a year, then worked as an assistant to NY sculptor Charles Ginnever for a year, which in turn led to California Instit. of the Arts for two years, where i received my MFA in 1972. Following this i worked at a gold mine in northern CA for two years building the working equipment, before continuing my life as a sculptor, which i have done since then.
